Native to Sri Lanka, it soon established itself in the aquarium industry due to its easy growth habit. With broad green leaves, the plant looks great and increases the overall look of the tank.
Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Green’ can grow in shaded areas as it prefers low-light conditions. In Sri Lanka, it can be seen growing in streams and rivers. Since it is easy to grow and doesn’t have peculiar water requirements, it is suitable for both experienced and beginner aquarists. Moreover, it is easy to aquascape and create amazing displays with the help of Cryptocoryne wendtii.
Appearance: Even though there are several color variations in Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Green,’ the green color is more abundantly found. The beautiful lush green leaves make the plant alluring. The size of the leaves ranges from 8 to 15 cm wide, and the plant can reach up to 10 to 30 cm under preferable conditions. Depending upon the circumstances, you may see leaves with varying colors, textures, and sizes.
Hard/Soft Plant:Â Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Green’ is an extraordinarily hardy plant that can flourish in varied water parameters.
Ideal water temperature:Â A temperature range from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius is considered suitable for its growth. For the best results, it is recommended to maintain 25 degree Celsius in the tank.
Lighting conditions:Â Low lighting is good for its growth and development. It prefers to grow in shaded areas in the wild.
Ideal pH level:Â Cryptocoryne Wendtii is best suited to neutral water of 6.8 to 7.2.
Propagation:Â Propagating Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Green’ is simple. All you need is to remove a small portion of the root with some stem attached to it and plant it in the substrate. Gradually, it turns into a new plant.
Other requirements:Â Since it is an undemanding aquarium plant, there are no other requirements. It can grow well without added carbon dioxide. However, CO2 injection will only benefit it.

It can be removed by cleaning the plant with water by simply removing the gel with hands. Plant them a few centimeters apart and keep trimming once they start spreading for the best results.
